James Weigle Obituary

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, September 11, 2025, James "Jim" Gardiner Weigle III, 86, loving husband of Linda Weigle for 65 years.

A man of faith, Jim was a member of Trinity on the Hill. He loved nature, fishing, and arrowhead hunting; and he was also a friend of Phinizy Swamp. A graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in industrial management, Jim retired from Lockheed-Martin after a long and successful career. He was a former member of the Augusta Country Club. Jim was loved by his family for his devotion and wonderful sense of humor.

Family members include his wife: Linda E. Weigle; daughter: Kathie Barnes; son: Stephen Weigle; granddaughter: Kristen Puryear (Braxton); grandson: Andrew Barnes; granddaughter: Morgan Weigle; grandson: Dylan Weigle; great-grandchildren: Scottie Puryear and Beau Puryear; brother: Daniel Weigle (Krista); sisters-in-law: Lucy Weigle and Harriett Myers; granddogs: Scarlett and Teddy; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James "Gardiner" and Annie B Weigle, Jr.; son: James S. Weigle; brother: John Weigle; and son-in-law: Scott Barnes.

A private graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park.
