James "Jimmy" LaLond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell - Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home - Downtown on Aug. 4, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

James Dwyer "Jimmy" LaLond, 43, of Quincy, formerly of Hanson and Abington, passed away on August 2, 2025, after courageously battling addiction for many years.

Born in Brockton, James was the beloved son of John LaLond and the late Mary Dwyer LaLond.

Jimmy was known for his deep love of fishing, motorcycles, and Boston sports - passions that brought him joy, peace, and connection throughout his life. Whether casting a line on a quiet lake or riding his Harley on a crisp New England afternoon, he found comfort and freedom in the simple things. He had natural charisma and an effortless way with people; Jimmy could strike up a conversation with anyone and often did. He made friends wherever he was.

To know Jimmy was to know someone who felt deeply and loved fiercely. He was more than his struggles - he was a proud father, a loving son and brother, a loyal friend, and a man who never gave up on hope. He fought hard for better days and never lost sight of the people he loved. In recent years, he took meaningful steps toward healing and worked to create a more stable, loving presence for those who mattered most to him.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Kaylin LaLond Mullen of Abington, the light of his life and his greatest pride; his father Jack LaLond and Jack's wife Kathy, of Plymouth; his sister Katie Mullen and her husband Mathew, of Abington; and his cherished niece and nephew, JP and Libby. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family who will carry his memory and spirit with them always.

Jimmy lived with a big heart and an open spirit. Though his journey was marked by both joy and pain, his story is ultimately one of love, perseverance, and the meaningful connections he forged along the way. He will be deeply missed.
