James Richard Jordan, age 79, passed peacefully on August 13, 2025. He was born on September 3, 1945 to James and Marian. Richard Jordan was a long time resident of Adamsville for 58 years. He was a devoted and loving father and husband. He and his wife, Betty, spent 54 wonderful years together.

Richard was employed by Jefferson County Environmental Services for forty-two hardworking years. He retired in 2007 and enjoyed every minute of it with his wife and family. He also served in the Army Reserves.

Richard loved his family dearly, and they were always his first priority. He also loved cats,corvettes, and music. He was a man of many talents, but especially enjoyed music. He played in a band in his earlier days.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Jordan; mother, Marian Gray; sister, Donna Dunnam.

Richard is survived by his wife, Betty Jordan; son, Michael Jordan (Ashley); brother, Bruce David Jordan (Eddie Mae); grandchildren, Rian and Lana.

Richard was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home Monday, August 18, 2025, from 1:00-2-00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be at Midway Cemetery in Adamsville, AL.
