James Thomas Keating, of Point Lookout, NY, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center. Born on August 9, 1945 to Thomas and Margaret Keating, Jim was raised in Rockaway, NY. He was a resident of Stony Brook, NY, for 24 years. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Trudy; his daughter Kelly and her husband John; his son Tommy; and daughter Meghan and her husband Tom; his grandchildren Kevin, Siobhan, Killian, Cooper, and Logan; his mother Mrs. Thomas Keating; and his brothers and sisters Bob, Meg, Eddie, Mary, Betty, John, and Marty; his brother and sister-in-law John and Pat. He is predeceased by his father, Thomas Keating Jr., and his brother, Thomas III. Jim worked as a bonds salesman and was a partner at Brounoff Claire & Co. and retired from Goldman Sachs. Jim enjoyed boating, the ocean, skiing and golf. Most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family and friends from whom he gained much strength. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the FJC/Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative.
