James Keith Obituary
Born August 18, 1940 in McConnellsburg, PA, he was a son of the late William E. and Mary J. Trinniwell Keith.
James attended the James Buchanan High School and married Vera Riley on January 27, 1965 in Hagerstown, Maryland. James worked for Rockwell-Hawbaker Lumbar Company. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, watching the Steelers and Pirates, horse racing, spending time outdoors and hunting. Bid enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
James attended the King's Apostle Holiness Church in Mercersburg.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera Keith, and children, Jeffrey L. Keith of Harrisburg, Rodney E. Keith of Mercersburg, Charlene R. (Eric) Lee of Charlotte, NC, Brian K. (Roxanne) Keith of St. Thomas, Chad (friend Delisa) Keith of St. Thomas, an adopted son, Jamie Hornbaker, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ronald Keith of Chambersburg, Raymond (Sarah) Keith of Chambersburg, and a sister, Emma Jean Frisby of Mercersburg.
James was preceded in death by his sons, Craig, Andy, and Greg Keith, and siblings, Jack Keith, Evelyn Stoner, Harold Keith, and Delores Keith.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg, PA with Reverend Wesley Mackall officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
