It is with heartbreaking sadness that we, the family of James Lawrence Kolton, announce his passing on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his home in Green.
Jim was the youngest of seven children born to Frank and Rose Kolton. He attended St. Mary's Grade and High Schools where he made many lifelong friends. He was a top-notch construction equipment salesman most of his adult life and could carry on a conversation with just about anyone about anything as he was never at a loss for words. He loved the game of golf and played as much as possible every spring and summer. He had a hole-in-one at Ohio Prestwick Country Club when he was a member thereof.
Jim enjoyed all of his family vacations to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Ocean City, Maryland, and Singer Island, Florida. He loved his family reunions, holidays with everyone, and any get-togethers with family or friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Rose, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis and Bernard; his sisters, Mary Agnes, Margaret Ann Pearson, Vivian Swigart, and Martha "Cookie" Lipford; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny and Harriet Franklin; brothers-in-law, Jimmy and John Franklin; his nephew, Chuckie Kolton; and several dear, lifelong friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rosemary Franklin Kolton; sons, James L. Kolton II (Jimmy) and Theodore J. Kolton (Teddy); grandson, Anthony M. Kolton (Tony); daughter-in-law, Lisa Bott; sister, Barbara Jean Easterling; sisters-in-law, Harriet Bowers and Suzanne Seabeck; nephew-in-law, Johnny Franklin; niece, Judy Kolton Franz; nephew, Steve Pearson (Andrea); best lifelong friends, Fred King and Bernie Rach; special persons, Deanna and Bella Hodge.
A special thank you for the gracious gift from friend, Fred King.
