James Richard (Jim) Koven passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Anderson, IN. He was born on February 17, 1952 to S. Robert and Doris (Graham) Koven in Orange, New Jersey.
Jim was a graduate of Noblesville High School and Purdue University. He worked in retail and restaurant management for over 30 years, retiring to play golf and cheer for his grandchildren at their soccer, basketball, rugby, football and volleyball games. He was their biggest fan.
Jim loved playing golf with his friends at Pebble Brook Golf Course and cheering on the Purdue basketball team with good friend, Jim Hoffman. He especially loved spending fall break with his family in Panama City Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Gilliam Koven; his daughters, Carrie Hoover (Travis) and Casey Helmberger (Jared); his grandchildren, Abby Hoover, Brady Hoover, Kendall Giselbach and Ryan Giselbach; brother, John Koven (Neeka); sister-in-law, Donna Norris; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Koven.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Pebble Brook Golf Club in Noblesville, IN from 1-4 pm. Please feel free to come in your favorite golf or Purdue attire.
