James Gregory Lacey, aged 58, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024. Born on August 8, 1966, Greg lived a life marked by passion, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to his loved ones. His friendly nature and loving spirit were the cornerstones of his existence, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda Lacey, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. His legacy continues through his daughter, Shelby Caldwell, and the light of his life, and her husband Jonathan, and his grandchildren, Raylin and Lucas Caldwell, who will miss their pop's playful spirit and boundless love. He leaves behind his father, Hollis Lacey, who instilled in him the virtues of kindness and strength. His brother, Anthony Lacey and his wife Tina, as well as their children Karlie Ball, Carter Lacey will carry forward the memories of their shared adventures. He is also survived by Danielle Evans. James was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lacey, with whom he is now reunited.
A man of many interests, Greg was an enthusiastic martial artist, a thrill-seeker who loved riding motorcycles, and a competitive paintball enthusiast. He also enjoyed online gaming. His adventurous soul found joy in the exhilaration of life, and he approached every day with zeal.
Greg's impact on the world was as profound as his smile was infectious. He navigated life's challenges with grace and emerged as a beacon of warmth in every community he graced. The essence of Greg's character-his friendliness, adventurousness, and loving nature-will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of crossing paths with him.
As we bid farewell to James Gregory Lacey, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked by joy, laughter, and an abundance of love.
A memorial service for Mr. Lacey will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Cherry Hill Church of God in Haleyville, AL. at 2:00pm.
