James Alan "Al" Lambert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on October 29, 2023, at the age of 65. Al was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 15, 1958, the son of Doris Christine (Smith) Lambert and Chester James Lambert. He joined the United States Air Force as a young man, retiring after 26 years of service to his country. To help support his family, Al also worked overnight at Wal-Mart for over 25 years.
Al lived a full, adventurous life. A prankster at heart, he loved playing lighthearted jokes and funny pranks on the people he loved. He looked back fondly on his time in the Air Force and especially loved his memories of flying. Al adored being outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, and hiking often. When he wasn't on one of his outdoor adventures, he loved watching sports and was an avid Sooners football fan. More than anything in this life, Al loved his family and cherished their quality time together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by two daughters, Delila Beasley, and Vickie Pretzer, and his mother, Doris "Teenie" Lambert.
Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Cecelia Lambert; his daughter, Stephanie Lunsford and son-in-law Paul, and son Joseph Lambert and daughter-in-law Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Katlyn Baumeister-Schuerch and husband Johnathan, Savanna Beasley, Jazmine Lunsford, Summer Lunsford, J.J. Lunsford, Zachary Lambert, Alexander Lambert, Isabelle Lambert, Gabriel Lambert, Eric Lambert, and Vivian Lambert; and one great-grandson, James Baumeister-Schuerch. Al is also survived by his brother, Kerry Lambert and wife Jean, sister Christie Whaley and husband Alan, his dad, Chester Lambert, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
