James A. "Jim" Lanphere

James "Jim" Lanphere of Honeoye Falls (formerly of Clarkson, NY) born March 2, 1962 passed peacefully on February 20, 2023. Jim leaves two daughters; Ashley (Brendan) Smock of Brockport, NY, and Shawna (Jordan) Grills of Greece, NY; siblings John (Sue) Lanphere, Susan Dolan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Joan and Larry Lanphere, of Raleigh NC, formerly of Lima, NY and his sister, Laurie Spahalski.
Jim grew up in Lima and attended HF-L high school graduating in 1980. After high school, he worked for many years at Eastman Kodak before joining the Monroe County DA's office as a Criminal Law Specialist for the last 25 years. Everyone knew he had a heart of gold and would always try to entice a laugh. His daughters were his entire world. He enjoyed his Sunday dinners with them and their husbands. He also enjoyed the company of his sweet and loving cat, Pebbles.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 from 10am to 12pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, with a short memorial service to follow.
