James Merlin Lemon, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with Pastor John Rights officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Lemon was born July 11, 1940, in Randolph County, to Giles Lemon and Jamie Choplin Lemon. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, steel work, water skiing, chatting about old cars, and watching sports. One of his absolute favorite activities was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Lemon; and one sister, Betty Seabolt.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Peggy Mae Hardin Lemon; one son, Tim Lemon (Sonya); one daughter, Jennifer Pegram (Chris); three grandchildren, Morgan, Trevor, and Katlin; and four great-grandchildren, Timothy James, Liam, Emma, and Whitley. Also surviving are many great friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Konnoak Hills Moravian Church, 3401 Konnoak Dr., Winston-Salem, NC, 27127, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103, or to Sunnyside Ministries, 319 Haled St., Winston-Salem, NC, 27127.
