James Leno Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Central Chapel Funeral & Cremation Southwest on Oct. 1, 2025.
In Loving Memory of James E. Leno, Sr. February 14, 1955 – July 10, 2025
Born on Valentine's Day, to the late Nick and Martha Leno, he survived by his sister Grace (Greg) Kern, and his brothers Tore (Kathy) Leno, Nick ( Linda) Leno, and David (Nancy) Leno. He was the fourth child in a loving, connected, and faith-filled family. His sister and brothers were his lifelong best friends
Throughout his life he worked as a truck driver with a specialty in diesel mechanics. But he was truly a jack of all trades that was skilled with his hands and gifted with a problem solving mind. He never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Those who knew him will remember a contagious laugh that could light up a room, a generous and selfless spirit, and a personality that left a mark wherever he went. James was a dreamer, inventor, and philanthropist as he loved all people he came across.
James enjoyed being in nature at his camper on the campground, fishing, and swimming. He was proud of his position as President of the Conservation Club in Hudson Lake, Indiana. He made many memories owning his general store, playing cards with his loved ones, and shooting in his APA pool league. His lifestyle was always fueled by his desire to be close to those he loved most: his family.
Above all, James was the Monarch and back bone to his family's foundation. He was a devoted family man that treasured his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and loved ones with his unconditional love. He was their first call, the warmest hug, the loudest cheer for their achievements, the car ride you will never forget, and the one who shows up no matter what. Time with his children and grandchildren are sacred to him as his love had no bounds for them. James taught us to always fight for your family, to show up, and to love big even when life gets hard. Though our hearts are heavy we will honor his memory with a Celebration of Life, carrying forward the memories, stories, and love he gave so freely to those in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Leno and six children, Rose (Scott) Hannan, James (Megan) Leno, Kathleen (Juan) Garcia, Anthony Leno, Joanna Corbett, Nicole (Ryan) Riehl. He was a very proud papa and grandpa to his eighteen plus grandchildren, Samantha (Jeremy) Henrichsen, Vito Favela, Haley Leno, Roman Favela, Alyssa (Guliano) Leno, Meadow Leno, Daniel Leno, Michael Corbett, Mackenzie Corbett, Matthew Corbett, Olivia Riehl, Macy Corbett, Sophia Riehl, Scott Hannan Jr, Juan Garcia, Reagan Riehl, Mason Hannan, Eleanor Riehl, and expecting one on the way. He is also a great grandpa to Alexander, Isabella, Gianna, and Kahzel.
