Johnny C Bell, III, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Northwestern

Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL on the 26th of February, 2026.

Johnny was born June 27, 1956 in Des Moines, IA to Johnny C Bell Jr. and Ann Bell.

He built a life defined by dedication to God and his family, had steady resilience, positivity,

and a humble generosity that touched everyone who knew him.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Diane Bell; survived by her children, Michelle Morgan

(Gareth), Luke Hill (Alexandria), Randall Brummel (Janet), and Hannah Lange (Robert) He

also leaves behind the mother of his children and first wife Yvonne Fitzpatrick; children,

Andrea Schreiber (Richard) and Johnny C Bell IV (Emily). He was a proud grandfather to his

eleven grandchildren, Nora and Owen Morgan, Taeson and Teagan Hill, Freya, Luna, Boden

and Hilda Brummel, Landin Brummel-Clark and Brynlee Lange and Gia Bell- each of whom

he embraced wholeheartedly as his own. They will forever cherish his

guidance, wisdom and pride.

Johnny is remembered with love by his siblings: Billie Lovelady, Aria Fusion, Barbara Bell,

and Brian "Tony" Bell Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robin Taylor Edwards.

Johnny by trade was an Electronics Engineer. Early in his life he worked over 15+ years at

JVC servicing broadcasting cameras, televisions and various other

electronics. Later moving to sales within the organization and helping customers

understand the products further. After moving on from JVC, He worked at Baxter

Technologies fixing medical equipment. From there he went on to work at several

companies through O'Hare Airport fixing the x-ray machines, analyzing components and

other security electronics. Johnny took great pride in helping people understand

electronics and how they work.

His biggest hobbies were filming, editing video, and collecting gadgets. In

addition, his favorite genre of movies/shows were westerns, sci-fi and crimedramas. (Star Trek- Next generation being an all-time favorite)

Johnny's legacy lives on in the many lives he touched-through his kindness, his humor,

and the unwavering loyalty he showed to those he loved.

We want to share that Johnny Bell went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26. The funeral service will be held at Victory City Church (1741 Essington Road, Joliet, IL 60435) on Saturday, March 7. Visitation will take place from 1:00–3:00 PM, with the service beginning at 3:00 PM. Pastor Jeff Sandstrom will be officiating. We invite you to join us as we honor Johnny's life and surround Diane and Johnny's family with our love and support.
