James George Levernier Jr.

James Levernier Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 18, 2024.
Jim passed away January 15, 2024 after a long struggle to come back to us. The previous May he suffered a serious head injury from a fall. He was a construction superintendent for several construction companies in the Denver area. During his career, he worked on the second bore of the Eisenhower Tunnel, bridges in Glenwood Canyon, highway paving, DIA, the new Bronco Stadium, the South Platt River Environmental Restoration Project and other projects too numerous to mention. His work sent him to Wyoming, New Mexico and projects on the western slope. He always said "the plans are just a suggestion" and he made the project work to the satisfaction of all concerned.
He served in the Navy at the beginning of the Vietnam War and was honored for helping to save a fellow sailor who fell overboard. He always proudly wore his Navy ball caps.
Jim was unique in many ways. He would be willing to hold a crying baby, make kids of any age laugh and he was a good friend a neighbor. He was a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle and according to his wife of 48 years, living with Jim was always an adventure. He loved to laugh, tease, travel, work, camp, hunt and fish. He never wasted a day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and his beloved daughter Julie Levernier.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia, stepdaughter Michele and husband Rocky Infanger of Montana, son Jeff Levernier, stepson Steve Stiger, brothers Mike and Bill Levernier of Illinois, sister Nancy Sowls of Wisconsin, grandchildren Jasiah Levernier, Josh Randall, Justin Randall, Merle Infanger, Stephanie Richard, Jessica Stiger, Aiden Wahlstrom and great-grandchildren, Addison and Conner Randall. Also nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him.

Jim was a great neighbor; always willing to help no matter the project.
He was always fun to banter and laugh with. I will always remember the nickname he graced me with "The crazy ole woman from across the street".
Going to miss you Jim!!
