Jim died peacefully in hospice care here in Bend Oregon on August 25, 2025. Jim was an intelligent, accomplished, salt of the earth kind of guy, with a kind, quiet and most generous spirit. He was a man of integrity who shared an irreverent and irresistible sense of humor. He will be missed by those who loved him dearly. Jim was born on March 30, 1942 the first child of Muriel and Joe Levin ( now deceased) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam war, returning home to begin a long and successful career in management for AT&T and later with the Kaiser hospital organization. He worked hard and diligently, achieving ranks in upper management. Jim loved to work, was a wizard with numbers and managed to live comfortably throughout his life. He married his beautiful wife, Randall in 1977. They were together til his death. Jim and Randy lived in a number of homes throughout Southern California, landing at Touchmark at Mount Bachelor in Bend, Oregon in 2013. They loved dogs, always having pets throughout their marriage. At Touchmark, he served on the council for several years and was an integral part of the wine club which he loved and took great pride in. Jim adored his family. He's survived by his wife, Randall, his brother, Richard, Richard's partner, Tony, his nieces, Robin, Jamie, Jodee, and Emily, his brother in law, Gary, and, of course, his dog Yogi. Jim's sister, Sherry preceded his death by several years, succumbing to cancer. Rest in peace dear Jim. We love you and will carry your sweet spirit in our hearts.
