James Michael “Mike” Lewis, age 73, passed away, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his home, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was born April 23, 1952 in Clinton, SC, and was the son of Margaret Wilkie Lewis of Clinton and the late James Harold Lewis. Mike was an engineer by trade and retired after 42 years of service with Shakespear of Newberry. He loved working on and riding his Yamaha Roadstar. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are, his siblings, Paul Ashley Lewis, and Phylis Ann Lewis, both of Clinton; his best friend, Bob Lee of Laurens; his aunts, Mary Rebecca Wilkie Hanks “Bug”, and her husband “Pinky”, Patsy Wilkie Copeland, and her husband, Chuck, Doris Wilkie Weisner, Cynthia Wilkie Stone, and Sylvene Morgan Wilkie; his uncle, Marshall Wilkie and Bob Lee’s sister, Ginger Lee Eaton and numerous cousins.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his uncles and aunts; John (Buddy) Wilkie, Charles (Pete) Wilkie (Nanette), Ralph Austin Wilkie (Lynda), John Stone, Robert (Butch) Weisner, Frances Trammell (Billy), Jolene Wilkie, Richard Lewis (Ruby), Shufford Lewis (Grace), Otis Lewis (Dora), Herbert Lewis (Sadie), Vergie Mae Smith (Raeford), Lucille Neighbors (Wreford).
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Pinelawn Memory Gardens with Bob Lee officiating and burial to follow.
The family will greet visitors immediately following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Laurens County Cancer Association, PO Box 6, Clinton, SC 29325.
