James Frank Littleton, age 87, of Stephenville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on September 27, 1938, in Stephenville to Lee Roy and Rosala Littleton, James spent nearly his entire life in the community he cherished.
He spent much of his working life as a skilled auto paint/body man and also as a golf course greenskeeper.
On November 8, 1988, James married Judy Munsell Ballard. He is survived by Judy; his children, Jim Littleton, David Littleton, and Judy’s children, D’Ann Ballard Moody, and Joe Ballard, and brother, Bill Littleton. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a circle of friends from a lifetime in Stephenville.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kay Littleton Watts; his brother, Mike Littleton; and his sister, Martha Littleton Mittel.
Those who knew James will remember him as a talented craftsman & musician, a skilled golfer, an outdoorsman, and above all, a steadfast friend and family man. His easygoing spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
As he wished, there will be no formal memorial service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date so that family and friends can gather to honor his memory.
