Mickey Earl Long

Mickey Earl Long, 73, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Morgan Mill, Texas. He was born on January 10, 1952, in Stephenville, Texas, to Emery Earl (E.E.) Long and LaWanda (Nash) Long. He graduated from Santo High School. He worked many years at Erath County, but worked as a ranch hand for C. M. Ulmer before working for the county. He loved Gary’s and Max’s kids like his own. His favorite past time was working on trucks and tractors with Dillan and having a gossip session and a cold one at the ‘A.A. Meeting’. He was a member of the Patillo Baptist Church, having been saved at age 16.
Mickey is survived by his wife Dena “Peaches” Long, his daughters Amber Soderlind and husband Patrick of Morgan Mill, Marenda Howard and husband Cory of Keller, his grandchildren Lillie Soderlind, Dillan Soderlind, and Slade Soderlind of Morgan Mill, Preston Saldivar, and Gabby Saldivar of Keller, his bonus daughters C.J. Brock of Gordon, Meighan Knight, his bonus granddaughter Ady Knight of Austin, his sister Rosemary Henson and husband Clyde of Kermit; cousins, Gary Wayne Henson and Max Earl Henson; his good friend AB “Bunny” Owen, and his first wife Sherry Childress of Stephenville.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Patillo, Texas, with Gary Williams officiating.
