Jim Logan was a classmate at Boston University School of Theology, 1953-56. He was always the "top student" in our class, usually ranked ahead of everyone else when it came to grades on research papers, final exams, etc. There was one occasion, however, when my finishing grade for Dean Walter Muelder's social ethics final exam was a point or two ahead of Jim's. And that was only because Jim had personally advised me to intensively study for this ultimate exam of our 3 years at the ST, with particular attention to a certain chapter of Dr. Muelder's book. It was great to see Jim in later years at ST class reunions, on which occasions he sometimes would favor us with one of his excellent lectures. Jim Logan was one of the outstanding, lifetime leaders in the church and seminary world.
