James Victor Lopes

James Victor Lopes, 89 years old, passed away November 30, 2025, in Hilmar, CA. James was born July 23, 1936, in Hilmar, CA, and graduated from Hilmar High School. James worked as a carpenter and farmer and worked at Hilmar Lumber for 57 yrs. He was in the National Guard and was an active parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, CA. James traveled to Europe, Portugal, the Fiji Islands, Jamaica, Canada, Hawaii, and traveled around the country visiting other states and family members. James met his wife Linda in Turlock, and they were married November 6, 1977, and were married for 48 yrs.

James is survived by his wife Linda, sons Mike (Irene) Lopes from Folsom, CA, Jeff (Dara) Lopes from Star, Idaho, and Michael (Melissa) Lopes from Hilmar, CA. James is survived by his grandchildren, Bianca (Paul), Topanga (Max), Michaela, James Lee, Dillon, Diana, Brett, Miranda, and Chase. James is also survived by his ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia Lopes, his brothers Johnny, Richard, and Tony Lopes, and daughter Annie.

James was a loving husband, papa, father-in-law, James was a friend to so many, and he was loved and respected by friends' family and his Hilmar community, his absence will be felt every day.

A viewing will be held starting at 5:00 pm with a rosary to be followed at 6:00 pm at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, CA at 10:00 am followed by a graveside service at Hilmar North Cemetery District.
