Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will be private. I agree with Ed... " quiet and unassuming". Steve was my neighbor across the street. I saw him on the day of our big snowstorm, the day of his passing, riding his snowblower/tractor down the street. He was clearing a portion of North West Street on his way to another neighbor's house to clear their snow. He cleared my driveway, unasked, one snowstorm a few years ago while I was away at work. He always had a smile and a wave to me when we'd see each other, mostly when I'd be collecting my mail. I'm truly going to miss seeing him. I'm sorry, Fran and family, for this great loss in your lives. Know that the loss goes well beyond the walls of your home.

Steve was one of the nicest guys I knew in my 20 tears working in the lodge at Dicks Sports. Shy quiet and unassuming he would always search me out and we would chat about fishing or the outdoors in general. He was one of the good guys.
