James Homer Lopez, age 63, of Rapid City, South Dakota, formerly of Homestead, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Maria Hooper; his father, James Home Coffey; his sister, Rita Lou Schaeffer; and his brother, Joseph Lopez.
James is survived by his daughter, Laura Lopez; his son, John Lopez; his five grandchildren; his brothers, Leslie John Lopez of D’Iberville, MS and Cyrus Dean Lopez of Chicago, IL; and his sisters, Vickie Figueroa of Rapid City, SD, Kimberly Johnston of Ocean Springs, MS, Matilda Ladnier of Perkinston, MS, and Connie Linton of NY.
At James’ request, there will be no formal services. In his memory, family and friends are encouraged to send donations to any organization of their choosing.
