James Lyons Obituary
James Edwin Lyons, 59, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 4:05 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026 at his home in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky he was born on June 24, 1966 the son of the late Edwin Lee Lyons and Peggy Mills Stagner of Madisonville, Kentucky.
He retired as the Executive Director of Pricing and Estimating for J&J Worldwide Services in 2025 after 15 years of service. He was most recently the Senior Director of Pricing and Estimating for TruLeader Services LLC & NuGate Group LLC.
Survivors in addition to his mother & stepfather William (Bill) Stagner, his stepmother Martha Lyons of Hopkinsville, KY. His sisters: Jessica Stagner (Kent) Bodily of Wetumpka, Alabama, Laura Lyons ( Luther) Parker of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Leslie Lyons (Ben) Duncan of Benton, Kentucky & one stepsister Shannon Stagner (Lloyd) Young of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, He also had a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

This hurts and I am stunned! James is my best friend and was like a little brother to me. I am at a lost for words. The memories we shared from High School through adulthood are the stuff of lengend. Even though we went seperate ways later in life, we always stayed in touch as much as we could. He will be missed greatly be me, as well as many others that knew him. My heartfelt condolences to his family- the world will be darker without James in it
