James W. Mannix

LATHAM James W. Mannix, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late James Mannix, Sr. and Agnes VanEvery Mannix. He graduated from Cohoes High School and worked for most of his life at the Bendix Corp. in Green Island until retiring in 1994.
Jim was an avid and accomplished golfer. He began his golf career in high school and had the distinction of collecting over 10 holes in one over the course of his life. He belonged to the Van Schaick Country Club in Cohoes, was a 25-year member of ENGYA and also enjoyed bowling.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Jeannine Snyder Mannix; by his beloved children, David Mannix and Deborah Speanburg both of Jupiter, FL and Michelle Krause of Watervliet; by his stepchildren, Karen Blanchfield (Joe) of Hoosick Falls, Mark Dufort (Marybeth) of Clifton Park, Leo Dufort of Clifton Park, Cheryl Haggerty (John) of Troy and Matthew Dufort (Kathleen) of Naples, FL; by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brendan and Nicklaus Speanburg, Justin and Johnny (Melissa) Krause, James and Grace Mannix. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Purcell Mannix and by his siblings, Warren and Patricia Mannix.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday August 5th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker, Latham. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Mass.
