James A. Marangoni

1951 - 2023

James A. "Jim" Marangoni, 71, of Apollo, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, in AHN-Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born June 9, 1951, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of the late Marino J. Marangoni Sr. and Mafalda "Muffie" (Delvecchio) Marangoni. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Apollo High School, and worked as a welder for the Keystone Generating Station in Shelocta for 47 years, retiring in 2020. He was a member of The Community Church of Pine Run and attended meetings for the Libertarian party. He enjoyed getting together with his old schoolmates from St. James, and most loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Lori Marangoni and Gail Marangoni. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy J. (Fornwalt) Marangoni; son, Michael J. (Karen) Marangoni, of Leechburg; daughter, Joanne M. (Ron) Hreha, of North Apollo; grandchildren, Drew Hreha, of North Apollo, Tyler Marangoni, of Hyde Park, Zach Hreha, of North Apollo, Dylan and Cody Marangoni, of Leechburg; brothers, Marino Marangoni, of Apollo, Dan Marangoni, of Apollo; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, with Pastor Josh Strunk officiating.
