James Marcuse Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 29, 2025.
James Edward Marcuse Sr. of Round Rock, TX, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 65. Known by most as Jimmy, his heart was as big as Texas, and he is deeply missed.
Born April 6, 1960, to Jerry Edward Marcuse and Sylvia Rogene Townsend. He was raised with grit, wit, and a deep sense of family. Jimmy attended Lanier High School in Austin. When he wasn't working, he was outdoors-hunting, fishing, tending to cattle, or checking on goats. A proud supporter of the FFA, he believed in hard work, responsibility, and punctuality. Jimmy was never just "okay" at shooting 9-Ball, you may never have had a call shot on a table when he got his go with a cue.
To his family, he was more than titles-he was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew and cousin; lovingly known as Paw Paw, Apple Jim, or Dad.
He is survived by his wife Ileene Pickett, brother Darrell Marcuse, daughter Julie and husband Jon Merritt, son James and wife Allison Marcuse, niece Casey and Husband Doug Edington, daughter Cynthina and husband Travis Halsey, son Josh Pickett and wife Kari Puryear; and grandchildren: Sylvia, Emersyn, Aspen, Nolan, Raleigh, Presley, Evan, Jordan, Nathan, Maddie and Lincoln. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jimmy shared a special bond with his lifelong friend, Dwayne Arnold.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and several aunts and uncles.
A service will be held at Manor Cemetery on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Following the service, we will gather at Casa Garcias in Manor to celebrate Jimmy's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Travis County Youth Show in memory of Jimmy Marcuse.
