James R. Maxwell, age 76, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on September 3, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Elwood and June (nee Wyeth) Maxwell.
James graduated from Collingdale High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. James worked as a Cabinet Maker and was very good at fixing things. He enjoyed fishing and took up woodworking as a hobby of his. James was a very humble man and his greatest joy in life was his family. He loved spending time with his family and creating memories that he will cherish forever.
James was the beloved husband of Amelia A. (nee Archer) Maxwell; loving father of Dorothea J. “Dottie” Dever (David), Susan A. Maxwell, and James R. Maxwell, Jr. (Tracy); adoring grandfather of Jason, Aidan, Olivia, Katelyn, and Timmy; caring brother of Janette Dollman (Wolfgang), Joanne Maxwell, the late David Maxwell, Raymond Maxwell, Edward Maxwell, and Dolores Bright.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment Private.
