James "Jim" Patrick May, Sr., age 87 of Centerville, TN, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Ascension St. Thomas Hickman. He was born in Old Hickory, TN on January 24, 1938, to the late Mary Angela Sheehy May and Walter Shepard "Shep" May. Jim was a Godly and dedicated man to his faith and family. He was a member of Christ the Redeemer in Centerville, TN. Jim worked as a lineman and retired as a Field Superintendent from Nashville Electric Service after 41 years of service. Jim was a lifetime Knights of Columbus Member, a Past Faithful Navigator, a Grand Knight and a lifetime street rodder. He will be remembered as a positive and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Peggy Breece May, of Centerville, TN; son, James Patrick May, Jr. "Jimmy" (Jami) of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Courtney May and Hannah May (Albert Troccoli Dragonetti); great granddaughter, Josephine May; sister, Jane Sparks of San Antonio, TX; brother, Gerald May (Linda) of McEwen, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Edwin Claude Sparks.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McEwen beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at noon. Father Kevin Dowling will officiate the service. Interment to take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
