James Mayweather Jr.

James (Jim) Mayweather, Jr. transitioned to eternal life, January 1, 2025. at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 25,1927, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, the son of James
Mayweather, Sr. and Lucinda King.
Jim was a resident of Toledo, Ohio since 1958. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a former member at Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was drafted at age 18 in the United States Army WWII for two years in 1951 and reenlisted in the Korean War, serving six years as Military Police Officer and being Honorably Discharged in 1958.
Upon retiring twice from St Vincent Mercy Hospital as the Director Of Environmental Services in 1989, and security/greeter for The Manhattan Group Lawyers Office in 2017. Mr. James was also an avid member of the Adams Township American Legions Veterans Administration Post 553 For 19 years until his decline in health. On June 26, 2013, he was selected to travel to \^Washington, DC for the Honor Flight Of Veterans, who served in WWII and Korean War and showed courage and integrity for our country. That was such an honor to be one of many who were selected to attend the flight from Toledo, Ohio.
He enjoyed being outside gardening and landscaping, boxing, baseball and football. He will now be joined together in spirit with his wife, Ivory; brother, Joseph Mayweather; sisters, Sarah Mathis, Anna Mae Mathews, Marie White, Essie Smith, and Fannie Anderson; brothers in-laws, Ray, Fay, Elmore, John Lee Jackson, John Mcpherson, and Reverend Printest Carter; sister in-laws, Thelma Carter, Joyce Mcpherson, Lula Belle Jackson, and Birdie Mae Jackson.
Mr. Mayweather leaves to celebrate his life and legacy, his loving daughters, Patricia Bass, Amita \^fest of Toledo,OH, sons, Anthony Mayweather of Mesa, AZ, Gary (Stephanie) Mayweather Of Fountain Inn, SC; sister in law Carrie Mayweather of Toledo, OH. Bonus daughters and sons Cynthia Williams of Toledo.OH James Phillips ( Latrice) Of Toledo, OH,Jerome White of Columbus, OH, Mary Barksdale of Atlanta GA, Pam (Rodney) Crosby, Charlene (Huston) Pettaway, Andrea (Torrance) Butts, James (Alysa) Mayweather, Christina Mayweather, Amitra Mcclellan, Anthony (Heather) Mayweather II, Nassime (Troy) Brown, Hanisha (James) Harris, Great Grandchildren; Jaden oliver, Alyssa Ragland, Caden Dopson, Alexis and Aaleiyah Bonner, Grant (Madison) Bonner, Phoenix Mayweather, Aria Carter, Kierra Dames, Tynazha Brown, Stefon Gibson, Mason and Lydia Mayweather, Great great grandchildren; Kylo Brown and Stefon Gibson Jr and a host of nieces, cousins, friends, nephews and bonus grandchildren.
