James McCrocklin Obituary

James Thomas McCrocklin of Marble Falls passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1949, in Kingsville, Texas. Jim spent the first fifteen years of his life in Kingsville, learning a lot of South Texas history from his time visiting the King Ranch while driving his first and favorite car, a 1941 Chrysler that had only 19,000 miles on it that he had inherited from a great aunt.

After moving from Kingsville to San Marcos in 1964, Jim attended and graduated from San Marcos High School (1966) and Southwest Texas State University (1970) while working for Tuttle Lumber Company and Sherwin Williams which was the focus of his Masters' thesis. After receiving his master's in business administration, he entered the United States Air Force and was stationed at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio where he handled procurement. He also spent time in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia during his deployment and received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He entered the family real estate business with his father, mother and brother in 1975 after being honorably discharged from Service as a Captain. He remained with the firm until December of 1998. Jim was awarded the CCIM designation in real estate in 1985 by the CCIM Institute which is the highest designation awarded the commercial real estate field.

Jim and his family moved to Marble Falls, Texas in 2000. He was most recently the Director of Real Estate Services for GTT Communications. He became an active member of the Rotary International Daybreak Club, serving as President from 2023-2024 and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member and former president of the Highland Lakes Amateur Radio Club. Jim always enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing stories about his life.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents James Henry and Harriett Stroud McCrocklin. He is survived by his wife Deyva; sons Samuel Thomas McCrocklin and James Richard McCrocklin of Marble Falls, daughters Rebecca Jo Hullum and husband Sky Hullum of Burnet; Andrea Nadine Whitfield of Marble Falls; Emily Rae Miller of Marble Falls; and grandchildren Angelee Nadine Fry, Maddison Nicole Fry, and Raegan May Miller; and his brother John McCrocklin of San Marcos. Jim is also survived by Matthew McCrocklin, Jennifer Scharlach, and Katherine Bowers and their families. "Well done, good and faithful servant," Matthew 25:23.

Grave side services and Interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on June 5th at 2:30 p.m. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to New Century Hospice, especially Shannon Robison, Shona Wilson, Clydie Taylor, and Gavan Rorie.
