James L. "Jim" McGuire, son of Carl and Cleta Bray McGuire, was born December 13, 1947, in Laclede County, Missouri and departed this life October 21, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, at the age of seventy-five years.
On June 8, 1979, Jim was united in marriage with Deonna Cook. Together they shared the next forty-four years of love and laughter, trimphs and tears, side by side.
Jim worked hard to provide for his family. He was a lifetime mechanic, serving customers in our community for many years. He earned well deserved respect for his knowledge and attention to detail. The three most important things in his life were his family, his Bassett Hound, Ernie, and making people smile. He always had a story or joke to share and never met a stranger. Countless times he told his family, "Everyone is a friend you just haven't met yet."
Jim is survived by his wife Deonna; two children, Jeanie McGuire of Nebo, MO and Kenny McGuire of Lebanon, MO; siblings, David McGuire and his wife Judy of Lebanon, MO and Joan Stephenson and her husband Kyle of Weston, MO; grandchildren, Christian Steel and his fiancée Melissa, Kitiara "Kat" Wright and her spouse Aly, Raistlin McGuire, Jerimiah Capel and Olivia Capel; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remebered by all who knew and loved him.
Celebration of life for Jim McGuire will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Roby Community Center at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Jim's family.
Donation's may be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, MO 65536.
