James H. McIlrath

MCILRATH, JAMES H. of Clarkston; Went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2025; age 92; Loving husband of Doris Steinhart-McIlrath and the late Patricia McIlrath; Dear father of Jerry and Melanie McIlrath, Wendy and Richard Savage, Dave and Angie Steinhart, Dan and Jeanne Steinhart, Jeffery and Riz McIlrath and Joyce Wiker; Brother of Robert McIlrath, and preceded in death by Dolores, Linda and Charles; Proud grandfather of Kristen, Patrick, Zachary, Andrew, Matthew and Dan; Great-grandfather of Dustin, Daisy, Dakota, Leeland, Taylor, Jamie, Phoebe, Dallas and Ellery. Mr. McIlrath retired as an Engineer from General Motors and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Community Bible Church and a member of the former First Baptist Church of Pontiac. After retirement, Jim earned a Nursing Assistant Degree, sang in the Kingsman Quartet, and enjoyed working at Riverside Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. Officiating Pastor Thomas Hampton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Community Bible Church.
