Thomas Biasell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Potere-Modetz Funeral Home - Rochester on Dec. 13, 2025.
Thomas Paul Biasell was born on May 20, 1948 in Detroit to LaVerne and Irene Biasell. He lived in Grosse Pointe during his childhood and spent summers enjoying the beauties of Lake Huron in Port Austin with his family.
He attended Grosse Pointe North High School, then graduated from University of Detroit with an Engineering degree. He attained the credential of Professional Engineer (PE) in the 70s. He was employed by the City of Sterling Heights for a few years, but spent most of his career working for the City of Farmington Hills. Hired on as the City Engineer, he retired as the Director of Public Services after more than 30 years with Farmington Hills.
Throughout his life, he was fascinated by the stars and rockets. His father was instrumental in developing the Redstone rocket, so his interest was genetic. He passed on this sense of exploration and endless curiosity to his children and grandchildren. Together, they assembled many rockets with varying degrees of success.
Even with this passion for space, his North Star was his family. Together, they watched the stars every summer in Broken Rocks in Port Austin. He guided them with his love and high expectations, and placed a high value on honesty and integrity.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pamela Galloway Biasell, his son Christian, daughter Alexis Duffy (Joe), and granchildren Fiona, Harrison, Maxwell, and Leo. He is also survived by his brother Jim (Pat) and sisters Anne Weldon and Lynn Kellogg. He is fortunate to have many nieces and nephews as well.
He will be missed dearly by his family who depended on his logical approach to problems his celebrations for each of their successes.
Visitation will be held at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home at 339 Walnut Blvd in Rochester, Michigan at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 16, and will be followed by a service in the same location at noon.
