Clyde Harrington Thomson Jr.

Clyde Harrington Thomson Jr., aged 53, passed away in Eastpointe, Michigan, on February 6, 2025. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 9, 1971, Clyde was recognized throughout his life as an exceptionally friendly and kind-hearted man, widely appreciated for his handy nature and generous spirit.
Clyde grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods, where he attended Grosse Pointe North High School, before carving out a successful career as an independent contractor. Those who had the pleasure of working alongside Clyde knew him as a reliable and highly skilled professional, valued both for his craftsmanship and his camaraderie.
A man of many interests, Clyde had an enduring fascination with all kinds of cars and a heartfelt appreciation for various genres of music. Above all, his role as a devoted father to his daughter Avery brought him immeasurable joy and pride. His kind and friendly nature made him a cherished presence in the lives of his relatives and friends.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Pat Thomson (Keith McCurdy); his daughter, Avery; his brother, Terry Thomson, and sister-in-law, Erin; and his nephew, Nik Thomson, and niece, Riley Thomson. His large extended family includes aunts and uncles, Judi Miller, Sue and Rob Koebel, Rich Miller, Bill and Pattie Miller, Mark Miller, and he is preceded in death by his uncle, Jim Miller. He also leaves behind many cousins and his former wife, Valerie Thomson. Clyde was preceded in passing by his father, Clyde Thomson Sr.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 2pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a MESP Plan college fund for Avery Thomson.
