Daniel David Stamat passed away on Saturday February 14, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Daniel was born on April 1, 1954 in Mt. Clemens MI to the late George and Elsie Stamat.
He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Domenica (Donna) Stamat.
Loving father to George Stamat, Giacomo (Gisella) Stamat, Melissa (Michael) Kehoe and Lisa Stamat.
Very proud, extremely loved and adored Papa to his 11 grandchildren - Dylan (Cierra) Stamat, Trystin Stamat, Gavin Stamat, Lia Kehoe, Giella Stamat, Alayna Kehoe, Traighton Harris, Giacomo Stamat, Tearsyn Harris, Devon Anderson and Myles Stamat. He had a unique and special nickname for each of his children and grandchildren, there with a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and words of love and encouragement for them.
He was a dear brother to Patricia (the late Gerald) Hopp, Nancy (the late Larry) Stanford, the late Joseph (Linda) Stamat, the late Douglas Stamat and June Dwyer.
Beloved son in law to the late Giacomo and Caterina Moretti.
Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Daniel worked in machine building and repair for over 40 years. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as woodworking and was a jack of all trades, master of none. Daniel was always there with a smile, a hug, or a raised brow and was never without an idiom. If you had the pleasure of meeting him, his home became your home and he always accepted you into his family.
At this time the family has opted to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date and details will be sent out as they become available.
