Matthew Carl D'Angelo

Matthew D'Angelo, born on May 7, 1995, in Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in Chesterfield, Michigan, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Nancy, as well as his older brother Michael. Matthew also leaves behind a cherished extended family, including Aunts and Uncles: John and JoAnn Nelson, Lou and Sue D'Angelo, Jim and Kathy D'Angelo, Bill and Sharon D'Angelo, and William Bernier, along with many beloved cousins.

Matthew was a proud graduate of Anchor Bay High School, Class of 2013, where he excelled as a member of the National Honor Society, participated in the Wind Ensemble Band playing the trombone, and was active in both the track and tennis teams. His passion for music extended to playing the piano.

A true embodiment of dedication and service, Matthew earned the rank of Eagle Scout on December 16, 2012. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and backpacking during his time in the Boy Scouts, which included memorable experiences at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. His volunteer work exemplified his generous spirit, as he participated in food drives, supported the Gleaners food bank, worked with his church on MCREST, and helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity.

Continuing his educational journey, Matthew graduated from Wayne State University in December 2018 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In May 2019, he relocated to Moline, Illinois, where he began his career at John Deere.

A devoted animal lover, Matthew was a caring cat dad to Chewy, Logan, Buddy, Jellybean, and Love Bug. He enjoyed various hobbies, including tennis, camping, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, traveling with friends and family, as well as visiting art museums, concerts, and movies. He cherished spending quality time with his wonderful group of friends, enjoying game nights, movie nights, UFC fight nights, and Super Bowl celebrations at home in recent months.

Matthew will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the VFW Post 7573 Lempke-Blackwell, located at 35011 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore, MI 48047.
