John Pollard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel - New Baltimore on Jan. 20, 2026.
John Henry Pollard, age 69 of Chesterfield, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2026.

John was born August 1, 1956, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to James and June Pollard, and was raised in Chesterfield Township. He graduated from Anchor Bay High School in 1974.

He was lucky enough to reconnect and marry his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Linda Pollard. Together, they raised his three children, Jennifer (Nick) Hartung, Jillian Pollard, and Jonathon (Alexandra) Pollard.

After the hard work of raising kids was done, John switched his focus to spoiling his granddaughters, the true lights of his life, Karson, Baylee, Emma, and Autumn. There was nothing that Papa couldn't or wouldn't do for them.

John was a valued and trusted member of the community. The Pollard family has a rich history in Chesterfield Township, but he carved his own path. John was a proud small business owner and found great success with Earth Landscaping. Above the spreadsheets and profits and losses, he truly valued the relationships he built with his customers and friends and regularly went out of his way to make life a little bit easier for each of them.

Outside of work, John lived hard and played hard. Rest was not in his vocabulary. Whether he was out and about, playing a round at a local golf course, out on the water, at a bonfire, or at his second home in Florida with Linda, every single person he came across was either already a friend or would be by the time their conversation was over.

His kindness and generosity far outweighed the amount of whiskey he drank, and if you knew him, you know that says a lot. John never left a person in need; he quite literally gave someone the shirt off his back. He would wake up extra early to plow and salt the driveway of a dialysis patient so he could safely attend his appointments.

John was a force of nature, a lover of life, and everyone's best friend. His memory will live on with those who loved him dearly.

John is survived by his wife, Linda Pollard. Children, Jennifer (Nick) Hartung, Jillian Pollard, and Jonathan (Alexandra) Pollard. Grandchildren, Karsen, Baylee, Emma, and Autumn, and sisters, Jamie (Steve) Schehr, Jackie (Dan) Davis, and Janene (Steve) Takayama.

Visitation 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Wasik Funeral Home – Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore.

I met John playing in a golf league, and it´s true that he was a good and kind man. I felt like I had known him for years after just 2 hours. My son and I both have talked about how much fun it was playing with him. And we are going to miss him.

My sincere condolences to Linda and the Pollard family. Johnny will for sure be missed, especially by his Florida family- my father Don truly enjoyed his friendship. He always had a great time and the people around him did too! He will forever be the "like a good neighbor, stay over there" guy. Always missed and never forgotten.
