It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Ann Johns, at the age of 82, on February 15, 2026. Surrounded by her loving family, she leaves behind a legacy of strength and resilience as she now finds peace with the Lord.
Barbara was born and raised in Detroit as the second of seven siblings to Elizabeth and Mark McNamara. Throughout her life, she called various places in Michigan home, including Algonac, Marine City, and Madison Heights. In the 1980s, she pursued her education and earned a degree in business, which paved the way for her career. Barbara worked at several banks and was also a successful Avon representative for over 20 years.
A woman of many talents, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and solving puzzles in her leisure time. Barbara was a devoted mother to Brian Fuller (Annie), Suzanne Kalka (Larry), and Sandy Johns (Mike), and her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Kaylee, Brigid, Peyton, Avery, Ryleigh, and Lucas.
Barbara's love and nurturing spirit were evident to everyone who crossed her path. She always put her children first, creating a warm and open-hearted environment filled with a sense of belonging. In her later years, she cherished her independence, and her remarkable qualities of determination, strength, warmth, positivity, and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
As we celebrate her life, we hold onto the beautiful memories she created and the love she shared with us. Barbara Ann Johns will be dearly missed.
A Formal Mass and Luncheon will take place at a later date.
