James R. McMahon

James R. McMahon, 77, of Highland, NY, died Tuesday December 23, 2025 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH surrounded by his children. He was born on November 13, 1948 in Medford, MA, a son of the late Francis and Helen (Fardella) McMahon. He had been a resident of Highland for the past 34 years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH. He retired from the US Navy after many years of service. Jim had a great passion for animals especially cats that he would rescue.

He is survived by his wife, Luann (Minnetto) McMahon; and mother of four of his children, Amber McMahon; five sons, Dondi McMahon of Allenstown, NH, Nicholas McMahon of Manchester, NH, Marc McMahon of Hooksett, NH, and William McMahon and Michael McMahon both of Highland, NY; his daughter, Francesca Jarvis of Derry; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph McMahon of Arlington, MA, and Kevin McMahon of Methuen, MA; three sisters, Eileen McMahon of Belmont, MA, Karen McMahon of Somerville, MA, and Helen McMahon-Waters of Milford, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward McMahon.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30th from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
