Obituary of James F. McWilliams
In Loving Memory of James F. McWilliams January 18, 1959 – June 10, 2025
James F. McWilliams, affectionately known to many as "Beaver," passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by his family. Born on January 18, 1959, at Wyandotte General Hospital in Wyandotte, MI, James was the beloved son of the late James T. McWilliams and MaryAnn McWilliams. A lifelong carpenter and dedicated craftsman, James was known for his strong work ethic, humble nature and the pride he took in a job well done. He was always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh or sit down for a good game of euchre. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with friends and family and never passed up a chance to visit the Upper Peninsula, a place that held a special place in his heart. James is survived by his three children: Christopher McWilliams, Lawrence Luttman, Heather Luttman and their siblings Kayla and Kyle Cleaveland. His memory will live on through his six beloved grandchildren: Emma, James, Oliver, Ruairi McWilliams, Shayna Recore and Arianna OBryan. He also leaves behind six loving siblings, whom he cherished dearly: Mary Kevin (Steve) Lorenz, Margaret (Tom) Druchniak, Thomas (Mary) McWilliams, Kathryn (the late Scott) Farner, Rose (Roy) Nowak, and Lawrence (Gina) McWilliams and many loving nieces and nephews. James will be remembered for his kind heart, his spirit, his one of a kind jokes and his unwavering love for those around him. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel like family and whose presence brought warmth and laughter to every room.
In honor of James, his family encourages you to enjoy a game of euchre, take a quiet walk in nature, or spend quality time with the people you love-just as he would have wanted.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
