James J. Mellett, age 85, of Berlin, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jim served honorably as a medic, dedicating himself to the care and well-being of others, a calling that shaped the way he lived his life. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whose greatest joy was being present for the milestones, achievements and everyday moments of his family.

Though a man of few words, his wisdom carried weight and his quiet strength was a steady anchor for those he loved. He found joy in the simple things, whether cheering for his beloved Phillies and Eagles, relaxing by the pool, or casting a fishing line into the water with his family. He treasured family trips to the Poconos, the annual Jersey Shore trip, and travelling with his wife, Maureen. His love of reading and sharing his knowledge of history reflected his intelligence and thoughtful spirit. His pride of his Irish heritage was evident in his knowledge and the many stories he shared with his family. He also loved many games and puzzles while sitting in "Pop's chair".

Jim lived his life with dignity, humility and an unwavering devotion to those around him. His legacy of love, loyalty and quiet guidance will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.

Beloved husband of Maureen Mellett. Devoted father of Kathleen Huder (Rich), Eileen Watts (Billy), Theresa Smurlo (Stephen), Maureen Mellett (Brandy), and Jimmy Mellett (Debbie). Loving and proud grandfather of 17; Kaitlyn (Sean), Erin, Elizabeth, Kayla, Kealy, Autumn (Dennis), Tyler, Emma, Evan, Nicholas, Zachary, James, Tess, Dominic, Jacob, Addison, & Ciara.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, and again on Thursday, October 2nd, from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM, at Saint Simon Stock Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
