James Menehan Obituary
February 28, 1926 - June 26, 2025
Wichita, Kansas - James Menehan, MD, a beloved pediatrician, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 26, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 12th, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Menehan. He is also preceded by his sisters, Madeline Ainsworth, Jo Ellen Menehan, and Judy (Wayne) Sheets; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lois and Johnny Peterson and Jim Bartel.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelsey Menehan, Melissa (Van) Abel, and Devon (Jon) Kirkpatrick; grandchildren: Sam (Mischia) Kirkpatrick, Brian (Jackie) Kirkpatrick, Andrea (Adam) Powell, and David (Kendra) Abel; and great-grandchildren: Galilee, Revere, and Jane Abel; Inez and Maddie Powell; and Finnegan and Miller Kirkpatrick.

I have fond memories of Dr. Menehan and the wonderful way he was with children. Both of my children who are now in their 50s had Dr. Menehan as their doctor. He was delightful with them. He was very thorough, caring, and professional. As a young Mother I really appreciated how easy it was to pay an office visit with him. He served the Wichita community well. Dr. Menehan was a great doctor. My family and I thought a lot of him.

So sorry to hear about Jim's passing. A truly great man who lived a great life. Really enjoyed knowing and working with him at Health Care Plus. He was a true treasure.
