MILLER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Wesley Miller, Sr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 79.

James dedicated many years of his life as a skilled welder, working with pride and integrity for both Amtekco and Wasserstrom. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady hands, and the quiet humility with which he approached every task. He will be remembered by many not only as a dependable craftsman, but also as a kind-hearted friend who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted member of the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union, James lived out his beliefs through service, kindness, and a gentle spirit. He found joy in ministering to others, often sharing music and encouragement with residents at both the Bluebird Retirement Community and London Health and Rehabilitation, where his presence brought light and comfort to many.

He also gave generously of his time to the Madison County Food Pantry, serving others with compassion and humility for over 13 years. Whether stocking shelves or offering a kind word to someone in need, James treated everyone with dignity and care.

In his free time, he loved being outdoors – mowing the lawn, fishing by a quiet pond, or simply soaking in the peace of God's creation. He also had a passion for finding hidden treasures at local yard sales and was always on the lookout for something unique. These simple joys brought him a quiet happiness, and his excitement for a good find seemed to always be contagious.

Those who knew him will remember his gentle smile, his steady presence, and his unwavering kindness. He was a man of character, humor, and heart – loved deeply by many and respected by all. His life was a living testimony to his faith, his family, and the people he served.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet (Tatman) Miller; children: James (Amber) Miller Jr., Jason (Mandy) Miller, and Jennifer Miller; grandchildren: Matthew (Coda) Kendall, Tiffany Kendall, Ian Miller, Clive Miller, Liam Miller, Finn Miller; great-grandchildren Eleanor and Hazen; sister Betty Thompson; niece Piper Thompson and nephew John Ricketts.

James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Dorse (Donald) Kendall; brother Raymond Lee Miller, sisters Anna Miller and Mary Jane Clifton; brothers-in-law Jim Clifton and Jack Thompson; niece Crystal Ricketts.

The Miller family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will commence at 12:30 PM with Pastor Bill Benner officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in James' name may be sent to benefit the Madison County Food Pantry, 125 South Oak Street, London, Ohio 43140.

Condolences and prayers for the Miller family are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
