It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Big Jim" Miller, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on October 21, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, a native of Sanford, North Carolina, and resident of Houma, Louisiana.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Malbrough Miller; sons, Peyton Miller (Tara), and James Miller, Jr.; daughter, Nicole Bland (Robert); grandchildren, Trent (Gaby) Miller, Jordan (Angela) Dupre, Jayden Dupre, Morgan Bland, Baylen Miller; great-grandchildren, Weston Miller and Avery Dupre; brother, Benny Miller (Brenda); sister, Kathy McKay (Mike).
James is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Monreal Miller and Jean Faulk Miller. James was a simple man with a profound impact on those around him. Married to his beloved wife, Linda, for 48 years, he embodied the qualities of dedication and love. A passionate construction manager, James was not only skilled in his trade but also took great pride in passing his carpentry skills down to others, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Known for his few but impactful words, he touched the lives of many with his wisdom and guidance. In his leisure time, James enjoyed watching westerns, staying informed with the news, and cruising on his golf cart.
His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. James "Big Jim" Miller's spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return. May he rest in peace.
