James Milligan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home - Lewisville on Jan. 26, 2026.
James (Jimmy) Patrick Milligan, 59, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Jan 21st, 2026.

Affectionately known to friends and co-workers as 'TwoPitch', Jimmy was a Lewisville resident for over 50 years. He was content with the quiet rhythm of a simple life in the place he long called home. After the death of his father, he spent the last several years as the cherished companion to his mother, Doris.

Jimmy was a passionate sports fan with strong loyalties. He cheered faithfully for the New York Giants, Boston Celtics, Red Sox, and held a deep love for Notre Dame Football. What truly lit him up were the people closest to him-especially his nephews, of whom he would boast often with pride and enthusiasm; and the tight-knit circle of friends who gathered regularly for over 35 years at his 'local', The Point After North. The Point was more than a hangout; it was his community, where everyone knew his name, stories were shared, and all the sports rivalries were vigorously debated.

He had a quiet faith that he shared at all family gatherings when he said grace. He had a special talent for spontaneous prayer - thankful, crafted to the occasion, and always remembering the loved ones who were no longer with us. With his unique sense of humor, no-nonsense opinions, and big heart, Jimmy leaves behind memories of simplicity and quiet devotion to the people he cared about.

He is survived by his mother Doris Milligan, sister Kelly Chadwell (Mike), brother Daniel (Kathy), and nephews Michael and William Chadwell. He was preceded in death by his father James Milligan.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at CVICU Medical City Plano for their loving care and compassion the last few weeks of Jimmy's life.

The family also wishes that his many local friends will consider contacting Lewisville City Council to demand better lighting and additional crosswalks to support the needs of vulnerable citizens in high-traffic areas.

Services will be held Thursday January 29th at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville. Vigil at 2pm followed by rosary and Funeral Liturgy at 3pm.
