James' Journey
James Morman, a wise and faith-filled man known for his loving nature, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on June 6, 1934, in Somerville, Tennessee, James's early years were rooted in a small-town upbringing that shaped his compassionate and resilient character.
James was preceded in death by his wives, Jennie Lou Hill and Rosanell Bryant, with whom he shared a life full of love and devotion. From his union with Jennie Lou Hill, five children were born: James, Earl, Gwen, Delores, and Thelma Jean, who have since passed on before him. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his wife, Bernice Baldwin, and his cherished children, Mattie Bea and Willie. His blended family further includes his four stepchildren, Gridget, Tim, Chris, and Mark, who will remember him as a guiding light in their lives. James was the cherished brother of Charles and Aaron, and he fondly remembered his five sisters and five brothers who preceded him in death. His memory will be treasured by his 16 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply. James's life was a tapestry woven with the love and stories of a host of relatives and friends.
From an early age, James accepted Christ and was baptized at Second Ebenezer Baptist Church. His faith journey continued as he later became an active member of the New Hope Chapel, where he found a sense of community and spiritual fulfillment. James's faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and providing comfort and strength to those around him. Throughout his life in Cleveland, James held various jobs, showcasing his adaptability and strong work ethic. He was known as a man who could be relied upon, someone who would always lend a helping hand when needed. James's colleagues and friends will remember him as a pillar of strength and a source of wise counsel.
James's love for the outdoors was evident through his passion for fishing. He found solace and joy by the water, where he would spend countless hours in quiet contemplation or in the company of friends and family. Fishing was not just a hobby for James; it was a reflection of his patient and steadfast nature.
A man of few words but of profound impact, James lived his life as an example of what it means to be loving and faithful. He navigated life's challenges with grace and humility, always putting the needs of others before his own. His presence was comforting, his laughter contagious, and his advice sought after by many.
As we bid farewell to James Morman, we celebrate a life rich in experiences and filled with love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. James's journey on earth may have come to a close, but the memories he created and the wisdom he imparted will continue to resonate for generations to come.
In honor of his life and in recognition of the profound impact he had on so many, we gather to share stories, to support one another in grief, and to give thanks for the time we spent with this remarkable man. James Morman will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of his family and friends.
