James William Mosley, born on May 9, 1981, in Sacramento, California, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Concord, North Carolina, at the age of 43. Known affectionately by his friends as "Moe" and humorously nicknamed "Shorty the Pimp Mosley," he was a man of remarkable dedication and diverse interests.
James proudly served his country for 16 years in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and held the esteemed position of Intelligence Chief. His commitment to his work was unwavering, earning him multiple awards throughout his distinguished career.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was a man of many passions. He was a hard worker who enjoyed participating in ROTC and wrestling during his younger years. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for shooting, running, fishing, and racing motorcycles. An avid fan of cars and trucks, he also found joy in playing the guitar. One of his more endearing stories involved defending his beloved chicken, "Chic Chic," from hawks, showcasing his protective nature and sense of humor.
James is survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Linda (Mosley) Redmond Jr., and his cherished children: Ian James Mosley, Grace Taylor Mosley, and Shania Felton. He leaves behind the mothers of his children, Vivica and Quentesa Felton. His brothers, Joseph Redmond III, Freddy, and Daniel Salgodo, along with his sister, Brandy Salgodo, will forever hold him in their hearts. His Aunt Rosanna Salgodo also mourns his passing.
James's legacy is one of service, loyalty, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he enriched.
