James Lee Moss. III (Jimmy) lost his courageous battle with cancer. He went to the loving arms of Jesus, Wed., January 10, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Jimmy was born to James L Moss Jr. and Mary Cheek Moss in Lewisburg, TN, both whom pre-deceased him. He is survived by his loving, wife of 42 years, Tanya McPeak Moss. He is also survived by his three children, Kristie Moss-Jones (Tim Adcock) of Clarksville, TN, Kandice Moss Seacy (Heath) of Larkspur, CO, and James Lee Moss IV (Talia Dunivant) , of Lewisburg, TN. He is also survived by four precious grandchildren: A.J. Jones of Clarksville, TN, Michael Moss Jones of Cleveland, TN, Fallon Lee Moss of Lewisburg, TN, and River Wilde Seacy of Larkspur, CO.
Jimmy loved and worshipped his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family fiercely and he loved all animals and UT Football. Music was a huge part of his life. He never played an instrument, but knew who wrote, produced, and played on practically every song he ever heard.
Jimmy was blessed with a dazzling mind. He was a voracious reader and history buff. He was very proud of his southern heritage. He also had an insatiable curiosity and quick wit. Computers were his career and hobby. He loved good conversation and debate! What he didn’t love was funerals, so he requested not to have one. There will, however, be a Celebration of Life this spring. He chose cremation and requested his family sprinkle his ashes at some of his favorite places.
If anyone wishes to make a memorial, Jimmy chose Animal Rescue Assistance Team Tennessee, 2011 Verona Caney Rd, Lewisburg, TN, or First Presbyterian Church, 122 2nd Ave N., Lewisburg, TN 37091.
Jimmy loved God first and foremost. This passage always comforted him… Psalms 23 “The Lord is my shepherd…”
