James Mudge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by H.D Oliver Funeral Apartments, Inc. - Laskin Road Chapel on Apr. 9, 2023.
James Timothy "TimPER" Mudge, took his last breath on April 4th, 2023 surrounded by his family of friends in Virginia Beach General Hospital after a short, but valiant fight against the demon Cancer. If the bonds of friendship, and the love of true brothers and sisters could have held him here on Earth, he would have spent another 65 years sharing his version of dry humor that always caught the intended off guard and left them with a smile.
Tim was born in Niskayuna, NY on October 5, 1957 to the late Eugene and Rhobe Mudge. He is survived by his sister Sally Bausch and brothers Ronald Mudge and Donald Mudge. He grew up in Guilderland Center, NY and moved to Virginia Beach for his job.
Tim was employed by BAP Geon Import Auto Parts for over 40 years and managed the location on First Colonial Rd. He enjoyed helping his customers detangle the mysteries of their motor issues. Tim also loved traveling on his Harley.
Tim was a member of the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge, where he was a member for 24 years and served the Order as Exalted Ruler in 2007.
During Tim's time as a member of the Elks, he was a resource for every member, new and old, reminding them often of his favorite Elks motto "The faults of our members we write upon the sand, their virtues on the tablets of love and memory".
His presence was much larger than we realize today, and certainly not as big as the hole left in our hearts by his loss. His many friends will never know a friend who showed the commitment, concern, caring, and a cause for laughter that Tim shared with them daily. He will forever be missed by his Elk brothers and sisters, who were with him from the time of his diagnosis and were there holding his hand when he left.
Thank you to the many doctors, and nurses who cared for Tim and made him comfortable in his last days. Will forever miss him.
A celebration of life will be held on April 29, 2023, 2:00PM at the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge #2268.
