Mr. James Nathan, Jr., affectionately known as "Nate Dawg," was born on October 14, 1985, and entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late James Nathan, Sr., and was lovingly raised by his grandmother, the late Lucy Mae Nathan. From an early age, Nate was surrounded by the strength and warmth of family, and he grew into a man known for his gentle heart and caring spirit. Nate attended Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, where he gave his life to Christ at a young age. This decision shaped his character and guided his journey. He was educated in the Terrell County School System and graduated from Terrell County High School in 2004. Following graduation, he attended South Georgia Technical College, where he pursued his love for food by majoring in Culinary Arts. Nate had a special gift in the kitchen and was especially known for his famous pecan pies which brought joy to many and became a family favorite. Beyond his talents, Nate will be remembered most for his gentle, loving nature and his ability to make people laugh. He had a heart full of kindness and a smile that could brighten any room. He leaves to cherish his memory: his three loving sisters, Cassandra Nathan-Mayes (Cornelius), Brittany Lee, and Janice Nathan; one uncle, Elmore Nathan, Jr. (Carrol); two aunts, Annie Ruth Hall (Curtis) and Cecelia Nathan; seven nieces and nine nephews; and a host of cousins, other extended relatives, and dear friends who will miss his warm presence and loving spirit. Though Nate's time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, laughter, and good cooking will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
